Detailing the Athearn SD45T-2 (Part 18)

In the next few steps we will apply the drop step to the front end of the locomotive.

The photo below shows the Detail Associates #1402 drop step for late EMD GP/SD locomotives. The red dots on the underside of the step show the approximate location of the hole for the optional mu cable support. Also shown is the drop step bracket that allows the drop step to be mounted in the raised or lowered position.
