Detailing the Athearn SD45T-2 (Part 44)

In the inset portion of this two-part photo, we see the ends being formed with a pair of round nose pliers (they kind of resemble a dolphin!) If you use round-nose pliers to make this bend, place the outer most pen marks on the center of the curved face of the jaw. This will ensure a finished pipe of the right length.

If you are using flat-nose pliers make the first 90 degree bend inside the outer mark, then make a second 90 degree bend about 1/16th of an inch in from the first. This may not be totally prototypical for HTC trucks, but it works!

One other thing, then bends on the end MUST be perpendicular to the bend in the middle. If you look at the brake pipe from the end you should see an "L" shape, not a "7".
