Detailing the Athearn SD45T-2 (Part 52)


As mentioned earlier, wire remnants from Miniatronics grain of wheat/rice bulbs are used to simulate the sand hoses. Using a sharp hobby knife, remove .125" of insulation from the end exposing the conductor. Be sure not to "nick" the conductor with the knife blade as this may cause it to break.

Once the insulation is removed, dry fit the wire into the bracket making sure that the exposed conductor is totally hidden, and the insulation is flush, or tightly against the back end of the nozzle. If the fit is good, remove the wire and apply a small drop of thick CA to the exposed conductor. Then, insert the wire back in the bracket hole and hole for a few moments until the glue sets(use Zip Kicker to speed up the wait time!).
